Posted - 11 Oct 2011 : 10:28:56 PM Who might be going? Read that it's in LA this next time.
And... I actually might find myself in the U.S. in July. So am wondering if it would be worth it to register/attend, especially if I might have the chance to meet some people from here.
Or I could even just drop in for a day when people might be around the LA area (I also have a friend living there at the moment).
It's all been on my mind in general lately, thinking about potential meeting points in the u.s. where all my friends could drive to and see me in one go. Wishful thinking maybe, but I'd love to coordinate it somehow. ;P

Perhaps, but what kind of certainty are they (respectively) looking for, vs. what kind are you looking for, and why?

We're sorry we missed you too. We were around but didn't go to many of the sessions. Hopefully next year in Denver. We had such a great conversation in Florida I had hoped to recreate some of it.

You are lovely, elegant yet accessible, and it feels like there could be a long conversation of many hours between us.
I'd like that, shakti I'm sure we'll get the opportunity at some point soon.
It was also nice to meet your traveling companion.

You seem almost like you could be in the 7/8 space in terms of your sense of humor and capacity to laugh at your own personality features. I enjoyed meeting you and the fun conversation especially during the walk to/from the beach, I didn't have a sense for you as a person based on Board impressions, and now, of course, that's not the case.

Posted - 20 Aug 2012 : 11:49:10 AM Lake, it was really great to meet you.
My timing/travel constraints didn't allow for much flexibility to get to know folks over the course of the Conference. I'm glad you and Kate got to have some pre-dinner time together. It seemed like a sweet connection.
As for your glowing comment, thank you. |

I enjoyed the walk both to and from the King’s Fish House. Seems that we each have an antenna for where the action is. - the lively energy from the Greek restaurant… - the Polynesian drums from the terrace of a hotel… Ohhh… that’s where the action is! (I had a blast at the IEA Dance!)

Posted - 19 Aug 2012 : 11:37:57 PM A little late but just wanted to post a few impressions:
Rich - thanks to you and Joan for finding a spot for dinner. It was great that Joan felt comfortable joining in. It was really nice to meet you both. You carry yourself almost like a withdrawn head type in person more so than I would have imagined, though I am not questioning your self-typing by my comment. The connection between your wife and you was very sweet to witness, and somehow it illuminates what you have shared on the Board and little details about yourself such as your sig.
I was happy that my friend and travel companion was willing to join in for dinner and the beach walk that Lee inspired after dinner.
Lee - it was nice to see you again; you seem more vibrant and joyous each time.
Kate - I experience you as a powerful woman and both your voice recordings and your in person demeanor have taken a bit to adjust to, for me. I think we may have talked about this previously in the context of your astrological chart some (power modulated through an ascendent). You are lovely, elegant yet accessible, and it feels like there could be a long conversation of many hours between us.
Lake - we didn't get to talk one-on-one. I appreciated your ability to converse with ease (or so it seemed from the outside) at the dinner table. In person, you seemed like how I know you from the Board, paradoxically strong yet with a fragile side.
Narc - thank you for sharing a bit about your life over dinner.
It was nice to see Kawaii and Xenobart at the beach walk. I'd met both of them at previous conferences. Sorry to have missed seeing The Wayfarer and detach.
df - great to see you again. I don't have much to add on the Board about impressions besides appreciating your insights and conversation even after knowing you for a number of years.
Crooner - congrats on your retirement. You seemed more relaxed (compared to when I saw you last in Vegas). We didn't get to talk much, but happy that you were able to come to dinner and to the walk after.
I want to express my gratitude to everyone who was there, for joining in. Although I couldn't make the conference (was in the middle of a big life transition, plus was on my way to a several week retreat) it was a special treat to meet you all.
Until next time... perhaps in Denver in 2013?

Hey Crooner, what if you need this material later to write your memoirs? And, with the rash of fake autobiographies, you could need proof positive to prove that this really was your life.... Just think, you might be about to pen this generation's " MASH "! ~Lee~ and I can help with the funky early 1970s, if that would help in the writing.
