I just ate a salty dog. It was great. Salty Chocolates seem to be the "everywhere" thing right now.

Lemon Cheesecake at a coffee shop & bakery where I type
the proprietor as a male Two. The first time I visited his shop,
I overheard him talking with another customer, insisting that
his offerings are incomparable because everything is
“made with love.”

Based on the YouTube clip at THIS LINK
I think Seven-of-Nine would approve of the Lemon Cheesecake.

Man, that Imperial stout is kicking my ass.

I'm drinking Bell's Expedition Stout, AJ. I bought a bottle, not a 6 pack, because of the price (!!) and because they are just selling the last of them by the bottle. Too rich/sweet/dark fruity for me. I guess the richness is typical for a Winter Warmer and a RIS. But I'm so in love with the Kalamazoo Stout. It has really big roasty, coffee, bitter chocolate flavors with a hoppy, dry finish, so it doesn't weigh down your palate (which sweet beers do for me). It's definitely my favorite beer so far. I feel sorry for people who are out of Bell's distribution range.

Yeah! That is a good one. Bell's Expedition Stout is also good. They are a really solid brewery.

If you like coffee....check out their java stout...it is one of my favorite coffee stouts...

AJ, I don't know if you've had this stout but it's one of my favorites so far. Just had it today.

Hi Lovemyth,

From the menu linked above, I selected…

Clam Chowder
BBQ Beef Ribs
Baked Salmon
Marinated Mushrooms
Cous Cous Salad
Pasta Primavera
Home Fried Potatoes
Pana Cotta
Miniature Cream Puff
German Chocolate Cake

I have not seen the Lemon Meringue Pie.
It might put the proprietor on the spot.
After hearing his line in Million Dollar Baby,
people will expect Lemon Meringue Pie with
“real lemon filling and not the stuff that comes out of the can.”

Sunday Champagne Brunch Buffet
at Clint Eastwood’s Carmel Mission Ranch Restaurant

I like the individual seating at the end of the bar.
It’s right next to the piano where the pianist plays jazz favorites.
Those are the best seats in the house on Sunday mornings.

You have a spectacular view of the sunny, oceanside meadows.
You are right next to the music.
The bartender brings refills of coffee.
A glass of champagne is complimentary.
It’s an all-you-can-eat buffet with too many desserts to sample.

Now you inspired me to sort through my fishing supplies on this Sunday. Well, get the garden going and THEN sort through my fishing supplies.

I was about to buy that last night. I haven't tried it yet, but I've had a slew of crappy buys so I wanted to go with something I knew I'd like.

That sounds amazing. I love grilled trout. I usually only get to have it when I catch them myself. I love when restaurants carry it.

I actually recall a lunch more memorable than today’s.
My first experience with trout served in a restaurant.

Was on business visiting the Army Aviation Center in St Louis
and staying at the Marriott (circa 1983).

The restaurant at the Marriott served a crab-stuffed trout
as one of its lunch specials. Made a lasting impression on me.

For lunch, we went here, a semi-local institution of warranted renown:

http://www.rosamarias.com/about-rosa-marias

I had a chile verde burrito.

For dinner---pozole!

i came home and treated myself to a some french onion soup steak and these delicious drinks called the lost barrel which is basically irish whiskey with ginger liqueur, lemon juice and demerara syrup. so good.

i was unhappy with the steak and wished i had gotten the porkchop murphy but oh well. still was a good treat.
