I think so. His song "Imagine" proves it. It's all 9. He even mentions dreaming which is 9ish. He's a 9. Agree?

As boring as Lennon was Paul McCartney is even more boring. I knew a guy who had a friend who spent a day with Paul McCartney and the only thing he could say about it was that Paul McCartney was the most boring person he had ever tried to talk to. That was years ago, and I was young and hardly cared, but that stuck with me. Paul McCartney is a bore. Paul McCartney kept repeating some dumb saying over and over.. almost like he was retarded, but i have forgotten what it was.

I'm interesting in arguments against Lennon being a sx1/9.

The attachements...7 and 4 are there (although that would be true for a 5/4 also.)
I have trouble seeing him as a 5.

Me neither. Definitely not living up to the sexual 5 rep.

I've always found Lennon intolerable and annoying, though I love the Beatles. And he is arguably my tritype 584.

In both cases he was born on a 8w7 day which seems the most likely e-type to me. He also was an independent person that followed his own way.

We all sleep and dream. For this reason I think this not a valid argument.

I wasn't aware that 5s have that reputation.

I think Lennon was an INTP. A very INTP sort of humour and take on things and interpersonally idiosyncratic: to invite a journalist over and expect him to swim around behind you in the pool all morning before deigning to speak to him doesn't strike me as extroverted.

I've never found him interesting either.

I disagree. The song "Imagine" definitely has a big touch of the sx/so or so/sx (sp-last) idealism regarding the world, though. I also wouldn't consider someone a 9 the minute they express idealism or dreaming. I think 9s have a particular relationship to dreaming, but like relicquery said, they certainly don't have a monopoly on the stuff.

Lennon wasn't gentle and dreamy, imo, that always seemed like more of a hippie image that he adopted than who he actually was, and also his attempt to redeem himself by championing peace, feminism, etc. He was a very assertive 5, he regretted his violent past, he talked about getting [blocked] off and not being able to express himself so he just hit... it's well known known that he was a fighter and he hit women and never thought about feminism until he met Yoko. I don't see any evidence at all for a 4 fix but he always struck me as quite smooth, self-confident, fairly extroverted... 583 makes sense. His imageyness is way more 3ish than 4ish.

"Lennon is idealistic as opposed to realistic and practical."

This comes from the sx/so standing, not him being a 9.

Why do you think he is a 6?

The same reason i think the doctor is a six, the brand of rationale underpinning the nine aesthetic; the brand of insecurity sixes play the most convincing nines, nine projecting is an ameliorating, soothing and welcome counterbalance.

The nine effect presents as an extension of the intellectually troubled and insecure pragmatic rationalist, or a natural organic state;neither the doctor nor mr lennon are organic nines, both are more healthy sixes trying on nine clothes....... liking them and identifying with them

If you're going to tell people the truth, be funny or they'll kill you.
- Billy Wilder

I can see him as a 6 too.

He's a gentle, idealistic, daydreamy 5 if he is a 5. I can see how people would see 9 in Lennon, and since I don't find him as interesting as others seem to, I'm not going to have an in-depth analysis to offer. I'd accept either typing as reasonable.

I think he could more likely be a nine then Einstein and David Lynch, which are both 5s in my opinion - Einstein w6, Lynch w4.

No idea what Lennon really was.

I agree that sixes can make good nine impressions.
Timo84 Posted - 30 May 2012 : 03:35:15 AM
In no way he is a 9. I understand if people type him a 1, but most likely he is a sx/soc 5w4 with strong 1-fix.
