Everyone,
It's odd that, so far, Michelle's type has not been discussed on this Board (as far as we know). While we are 99% sure about Barack Obama's type as a Three with a Four-wing SO (see that discussion in the thread "The 2008 Presidential Candidates"), we are less clear about Michelle Obama's type, although we have narrowed it down to what we think are the two most likely types that fit the patterns of her personality that we can observe.
But rather than prejudice the discussion by giving our opinion, we open a discussion of Michelle Obama's type here for your thoughts and supporting evidence. Looking forward to hearing your opinions (based, we trust, on as many available facts as possible!).

After watching a bunch of interviews, I'm pretty sure she's a compliant type, and also vigilant (a lot of eye movement, scanning the audience). I think she's a 6, probably 6w5. All head and heart. I'm not getting any gut from her. She's smart and well-spoken, but there's an element of 'doubt' in her; she's not entirely confident. Overall, she's intelligent, careful, serious, sincere and honest, with a pretty fat superego. A really cool 6.

I think 8.
Michelle Obama also seems to be able to tap into type 2.
I will not rule out 6.. but she seems very stable and strong. She is the rock for the family.
I could not do what Michelle does. I would freak out from the pressure of it all.

To consider E1, I'd need to see some significant degree of intolerance in her. I don't see it.

She has a sharpness in her eyes.
Those who knew her expected her to do BIG things. (Not by marriage either.)
She's authentic and has trouble toning down her opinions, (but did it anyway).
She runs the household and is focused on taking care of her kids 1st.
She seems to be very principled without being intolerant.
I see both 2 and 5 qualities in her.
I think she's an sp8, and she's the flame under him. She could make a 9 look like a 3.

I think 8 also. I think she is pretty much always on top when they have sex.
Michelle is the natural extrovert in the relationship.

The interview I saw with Barack and Michelle
indicated to me that Barack mentioned things
he was somewhat in disagreement with Michelle
as though he would wish that she lighten up
and not be so controlling. So with the natural
matings of types being considered she could be
type 9/1 or 1/9.

Posture isn't a true indication of type, insofar as 1's are concerned.

I agree that she could be a 6. I guess the question is...
What motivates her?.
also, does she show more anger or anxiety?
She's not a 3, but a connection to 3 is believeable so, Michelle and Barack together would focus on achievement when they find common ground at 3.
I recently read somewhere that a difference between 8 and 6 can be seen in personal relationships...8's try to control while 6s don't. What do others think of this?
Today, I'm seeing more 6, but I know I'll probably change my mind again.

She is a very healthy 5 with balanced wings who integrates to 8.
I could be wrong, but I doubt it. Michelle Obama is a 5.
The only way anyone can convince me she is not a 5 is if she looks worse with glasses. The 5 gene causes them to look better with a nice pair of spectacles. Because they are always reading, mother nature knows 5s will worsen their eyesight so has given them the ideal face for visual aids so they can get by in the world. For every pair of glasses there exists a 5 to fit them.

the last 2 entries...5 and 2...are so different from each other. If she appears to have have both she's an 8 or a 6.

I don't usually see much 4 in 2s (especially 2w1s), except for the need to be regarded as a 'special person' in the lives of others and the 'poor me' motif that shows up if they become unhealthy. And an sx-last 2 will be even more well-defended against 4-ness breaking out onto the scene.
Since the E.I. is supporting the use of generalizations based on one-liners, I'd point to her own title for her future role: 'The First Mom'.
