Okay bed time.
Gotta get up and try to re-start the process of being a productive member of society again.
Ugh, im always either quitting something or starting something...it's so much easier not to keep fighting against momentum like that, but, thus is life, eh? Gotta keep pushing...stubborn, like bull.

I had a sudden flash of a very aggressively libidinous wendigo thrusting me into the wall, unto unconsciousness. If that's your inner beastie, I have reason to fear.
Wendigo girl...that really is frightening. It started as "deer woman" and then kept getting worse.
I have no idea how that would be triggered by anything you wrote.

Oh yeah, bed-time. I don't know if this is going to work right now. I flipped a coin...whenever I start flipping coins over major decisions I can be sure that I don't have a clue. Lucky, it told me not to buy more cancer sticks...Strangely, I will do what the coin tells me.
This is not rational at all. It's probably another sign that I'm completely mad.

Oh, speaking of wendigos, this is an amusing image of one:

Nice touch, the jaw-bone hoop ring.
I dunno how to make it any smaller. |

Yeah, that makes sense.
Oh, mine isn't any nicer, though. Are inner beasties ever happy?
The coins are not to be trusted. I think they get mad at you when you ask them the same question more than thrice. Now, they're just talking out of spite. huff. |

| I don't think anyone's ever correlated monsters to the different types/variants. Yet again, another entertaining idea that could be another gigantic waste of time.. |

Aw, yes, what a dear you are! You know, I think you're adorable, but I don't want you to think that means I couldn't imagine you having a dark side, or some very deeply hidden monstrosity. We all need to feel like we have that in us ...but I think we all tend to have that, anyway. |

Oh yeah, a "beasts lurking in the shadow" thread would be a tremendous waste of time, indeed. What is your instinctual stacking again? Ew, i wonder if any type would be that japanese girl figure from the ring and/or the grudge. That is the scariest thing to me--too close to being doll-like...

(Feel free to go to bed at any time, but I am quick on responding right now)
It'd only be a waste of time 'cuz I have so many other things to do. Besides, it could get very silly very fast. I wouldn't know whether to put it in the focused discussion or chat lounge. It could turn into more astrology. Everyone would bicker about it.
Oh, and I have this canvas sitting over here that I really need to start splashing some paints on
The grudge girl was...kinda cute to me? I'm bucked up. Would totally babysit her if she could behave. I should clarify that the original Japanese version was more disturbing to me, American grudge girl...hahaha...
I'm really desensitized to horror, though.
Oh, you asked my stacking. Is that sarcasm, Lake?
I consider myself sx/sp, to give you a completely irony-free answer. |

Pinhead is a good social 5(w4) monster, but then he's a Clive Barker creation, so big surprise.

| The first two Hellraisers were crude masterpieces to me however many years ago. I haven't seen the ones after. I don't think I want to. Which one did you see?, there's like a dozen installments after that. |

I'm very interested in how the horror genre can be made both terrifying and tasteful again. But, then working within genres, you can only get so far.
I really just want to see another good Horror movie, as even with the best ones there's a level of cheese I don't like.
Or is the cheese factor a necessary part of the grotesque? Is there something inherently cheesy about this stuff, or are they just doing it wrong? |

Frankenstein is a perfect 3 horror story, all that work and planning, and the monster runs amok instead of being glory to " The New Prometheus ", who made man equal to God in creating " LIFE ".

I'd like to see more stuff like The Cell, where they're going for a dauntingly 'high art' visual/creative aesthetic. Super ambitious stuff, like this.

Riley correlated various mythical creatures - some monstrous - with the Types; see the last post in this topic.

Its cheesy because the premises are hooky for the industrial age. The Movie " Candyman " was well made, but he can be summed if you say his name 5 times a row, give us a break!

I enjoyed that one. Yeah, it had spell-binding visual appeal. I appreciated what they were trying to do with that. Too bad The Cell 2 was so ridiculous. I wish we wouldn't make [blocked due to guideline #4 violation] sequels for everything. Ever notice how most horror movies made now are either sequels, remakes, or cheap knock-offs? I have sat through too many [blocked due to guideline #4 violation] ones.
edit: okay, I wasn't using that terrible of a word. I didn't realize cr/a/ppy had to be censored.. |

That probably has something to do with it, for a lot of people. But, I don't mind obvious unrealities so long as there is something "real" behind the storyline, something connected with the human psyche. I get mad at terrible acting, cheap scares, pointlessness, overdone sensationalism. I could temporarily "buy" the most ridiculous scenario if it was only made to seem real. Special effects can't fix it; I actually like quite a few movies with very cheap/awkward visual effects when there is a certain intuitive "believability" to it.

hey, so, btw, my phone died last night after that last post (where i was posting from), and so i just took it as an indication it was time to go to sleep.
no, that wasn't sarcasm when i asked your stacking...i genuinely forgot. sexual 4 though, man...no wonder i want to eat you--you are so full of life force, you're practically begging for it
i can't believe you thought the grudge girl was cute! she gave me nightmares! i am blind w/o my glasses on, and was spending the night at my friend's creepy house one night, and woke up in the middle of the night to try and find the bathroom, got lost, got scared, and had a mini freak out that the grudge was going to get me. i started grasping desperately at the walls and messed up one of her pictures, then ran back to the bedroom and just held it until it was light out LOL the next morning my friend was like "what happened to my picture?" LOL
yes, please paint, and then post pics of your work

Ah yes, perhaps I will be back soon, with little pictures you can devour. Please eat them instead.
So, I'm on to the worst stage of nicotine withdrawal, where you start feeling dizzy like you're going to pass out and die or swoon out of contact with reality. I have been remarkably productive for all that. Full of life - more like spinning off a chronic self-induced crisis. I just didn't know how to do it right before...
I hope the conversation didn't give you nightmares; I would feel guilty.
