All you do is moralize and try to keep people in check. You don't really want to understand people, you just want them to respect your conception of what is human. But I think this behaviour of yours stops you from feeling human yourself. You do so much work to get others to be human because you've lost your own connection to that inside.
You still haven't asked me what I meant by it, even after I told you this fact. So you don't really care to give me the benefit of the doubt. I don't want to engage you further on this. I'd rather you write me off as a sadist. |

the pictures would be funny if it were about me, or about anyone. they are funny pictures, they are ridiculous. that's the reason why. i am just making that one concession to him so he can compare the sliver of possible reality he may perceive to the delusionalness of all the rest. like if he's telling me the entire wall is white when it's black i would concede there is a dab of dark gray in the corner. otherwise he will think he's right for his ranting and raving about god knows what because he can say I'm the delusional one. they're funny pictures, that's all. |

It's funny to me because it's so blaringly off about you and obviously meant to provoke, but in such an unsubtle and crass way. It's juvenile and shouldn't be taken seriously. I was wondering how you'd take it but it either triggered you to create that thread or you were going there already anyway.
I think I get what Glasgow was trying to convey about your moods and behaviour, but either he is really unaware of how it would come across or he injected a bit too much fantasy into his conception of you. You are not Gollum.
I felt the comparison was absurd, and that made me laugh. Maybe some people like to react by being serious, but my laughing about it had something serious to it: I don't buy his crap. I'm not writing you off as Gollum, but I'm writing off the Gollum-Saintly connection as a big joke. In a sense, my laughter was meant to protect. Otherwise you will wound your heart with things that can only bring you down.
note: I don't have the particular moral seriousness of a 1fixer, but in my own way I expressed a similar thing. Maybe you'd never laugh in such a situation, but for me laughter wasn't just "Haha, everything is peachy keen". It was a way to diffuse something potentially cutting.
Also (to your other post about challenging me): I don't really feel you've challenged me. I don't particularly have good feelings towards you, but I'm certainly not apathetic. I don't condone someone chasing you around the board trying to get to you. Just like what I perceived him doing with JoL just yesterday (again, so typical for him, lol). I also don't think you understand his motivations from how you've approached him, though. He's a relatively misunderstood poster. I think the best thing would be for you to ignore him since it doesn't seem like you two are going to understand each other anytime soon. But then again, you're leaving anyway.
