I just ate a salty dog. It was great. Salty Chocolates seem to be the "everywhere" thing right now.

salty dog sounds yum.

me, big bowl of rice noodles/shrimp/steamed broccoli (all mixed together with some garam masala seasoning and olive oil/soy sauce), and an apple on the side. Breakfast I had an avocado, an orange (and tea), as we're out of breeeead. Need to go shopping.

Might make boysenberry muffins later.

I don't think I eat as much as I should.

Shiitake mushrooms.

One especially interesting area of immune system support involves the impact of shiitake mushrooms on immune cells called macrophages. Among their many important activities, macrophage cells are responsible for identifying and clearing potentially cancerous cells from the body. In order to carry out this task, they need to be "activated" in a particular way. (In more scientific terms, their activated phenotype needs to reflect a higher level of interleukin 1-beta and tumor necrosis factor alpha, and a lower level of interleukin 10.) Shiitake mushrooms are able to help macrophage cells achieve this activated profile so that they can do a better job clearing potentially cancerous cells. Researchers refer to this result as an "anti-cancer immunity" that is enhanced by shiitake mushroom intake.

At the moment -

Food: a small portion of almonds, sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds, bits of dark chocolate (85%) and flax with goat yoghurt and a little blue weber agave syrup (thick, low glycemic sweetener).

Drink: peppermint tea with fresh spearmint leaves, stevia.

I notice that a lot of replies (including mine) list foods that are high in glucose, which could be a pro-aging factor.

Glucose is the preferred carbon and energy source in prokaryotes, unicellular eukaryotes, and metazoans. However, excess of glucose has been associated with several diseases, including diabetes and the less understood process of aging. On the contrary, limiting glucose (i.e., calorie restriction) slows aging and age-related diseases in most species.

That sounds more interesting than my dinner...which didn't turn out too bad considering I needed to use up a lot of vegetables and a can of smoked sardines.
Here's what I had:

Roasted green pepper/portobella and wine gravy. Added the chopped smoked sardines and served it over colcannon made of potatoes, carrots and kale...surprisingly comfort-foodish.

What orientation fancies food? Would that be natural or a choice

Those home made rolls are very good looking, though I'd be personally wouldn't eat them because of the high glycemic index of white wheat.

An awareness of foods' Glycemic Index can help you control your blood sugar levels, and by doing so, may help you prevent heart disease, improve cholesterol levels, prevent insulin resistance and type-2 diabetes, prevent certain cancers, and achieve or maintain a healthy weight. A substantial amount of research suggests a low GI diet provides these significant health benefits.

I want to hear this story. lol.
For some reason, I think sardines are sort of a 9 thing. We're not food snobs I guess.

Robin, these look so good and I guess I could taste one, though by no means I would ever introduce white wheat or any other high glycemic food as a staple food in my diet as that would make my energy levels, concentration and productivity take hit.
