Cytokine ~
Do you have the desire to know more about your ancestry or are you happy you don't know? I'm curious because I find that my own ancestry has had a significant impact on me. It's hard to parse out where the cultural influence and the parental influence stops and the ancestry begins, if you know what I mean by that.
Neat that you know the occupations of your parents, though. Do you feel you have inherited some of their skills and traits in some way?

Hello Walden,
Long Beach might be a good place for a Grigliata Mista di Pesce dinner… followed by the IEA Dance with DJ Russ Hudson.

The reason that I am curious about my ancestry is that I have always felt a foreigner in Israel. Even the weather doesn't feel right to me - it is too hot. The only time I feel comfortable is when other people complain that it is too damn cold. This country does not suit me - here I am like a cold water fish in tropical waters.
There is perhaps more difference between where I am from and Israel than there is between Hungary and Canada, so the issue of my ancestry feels more accentuated to me.
As for inheriting traits from my b-parents, obviously a lot of me is their DNA so they have an influence on me even though I never met them.
And to me at least their occupations make more sense than say, literature or gender studies. I am neither a doctor nor an athlete but I could be if I wanted to. Being a poet or a sociologist would however be far outside my natural abilities and comfort zone.
If I had to study what Saintly and The Wayfarer do even for a single day I would end up banging my head against the wall.

also i wouldn't say fours love being unique. rather, fours make themselves suffer for being unique...in spite of the fact 4w3s can be so self-referential.
thought eidbuser summed it up well on the differentiating 9 and 4 thread:
"I think what's odd is that my tendency to make myself suffer by constantly dwelling in the negative is contrary to the 9s desire to maintain peace of mind."
to me that gets at the willful 'pain-dwelling' of four...big difference from 7s right there they don't feel their uniqueness is something to suffer for...(watch out winking at those 4w3s you know they might throw a tantrum and accuse you of 'rapist logic' hehe).

Yes, I know very well what you meant.
quote: That's partly right. Not that I'd mind doing that, but I'm just not that boring.
well, i thought it was a dumb thing to say, but boring? do explain that.
I might have those thoughts about myself but I don't go around whining about it. I don't like it when other people do it. It brings people down, so why would I do it except to make a point? (The point here being that I recognize my foibles as part of the normal human condition).

That's exactly what I said.
but it's how i see it, not how i must see it. just because you may not see it doesn't mean it's not there.
...or it might just not be true.

Noted the changes...I was just joking about the 4 thing, but what you said about 7s and 4s is interesting.

yeah blah blah blah i've heard that one from you before....it's amusing how you always claim to know what i meant after you get trapped in a gaffe....you did the same thing with my pound for pound reference on an older thread...said it was your way of sayin' hello....until you changed your story on walden's recent thread and explained that your 'stupid question' was an attempt to challenge my opinion....
quote: I might have those thoughts about myself but I don't go around whining about it. I don't like it when other people do it. It brings people down, so why would I do it except to make a point? (The point here being that I recognize my foibles as part of the normal human condition).
you can reframe it however you want.
i just see it as a dumb thing to say. fact is you don't go around sayin' it...and i haven't seen you say it on this board.
and what 'foible'...that's nonsense (you aren't a legitimate imbecile). you believe you are ignorant....it's a perspective. and your perspective brings me to MR. B's first lesson in all this: people who believe they are ignorant and stupid say and do stupid things with more frequency.
and you keep trying to rationalize your 'foible' as a collective problem...shows me you are not comfortable with this 'foible'. to hear somebody say they accept their stupidity and believe they are ignorant is rather pathetic to me....you are only disempowering yourself. and this brings up to MR. B's second lesson in all this: if you want people to do stupid and ignorant things with more frequency condition them to believe they are stupid and ignorant.
quote: That's exactly what I said.
no...it's not exactly what you said.
you said 'if you must see it that way.'
i said: 'that's just my perspective.'
to me our statements aren't exactly the same thing...the word 'must' injects a subtle difference in meaning...you not only used the word must you indented the word must to emphasize it so you were clued into it. had you been saying exactly the same thing i said you would've left out the word 'must'...
quote: Thanks for being you. You're unique.
i'm pretty [blocked] awesome. i already know that...don't need you to tell me that, though.
and regardless of whether you were joking or not... you stumbled onto something interesting...now that you say it was accidental i guess we can chalk it up to a gilligan moment.

Yeah? Well, it's all true. I want to challenge your opinion while saying "hi" and do it by acting silly. I know that's not something you would do, and you disapprove of it, but I don't care. Your disapproval doesn't affect me. I don't think any differently of myself just because I fit in your shadow.

I don't care if you judge me as "pathetic". It says more about you than it does about me imo.
you are only disempowering yourself.
I don't care. I understand you wouldn't want to give up any of your own power...that's you. I have other priorities.
and this brings up to MR. B's second lesson in all this: if you want people to do stupid and ignorant things with more frequency condition them to believe they are stupid and ignorant.
Yes I've heard that before.

Right now I'm eating Kashi Cocoa Beach Granola again and it's (almost) better than sex. It's addicting and I can't stop...I'm afraid I might throw up. Better drink a bunch of water.

Your version is always welcome, and I honestly mean that with all my heart and soul.

antisocial things i apparently do in those shirts....see all my shirts are the same so my personality gives it a certain character for myself and others who associate them with me without me tryin'...have got myself a pretty big stockpile now.

nice try. my version has been the same here, on w's thread and on the original thread....frankly if your version were accurate you would've asked me a better question LOL...
and see, you can play the fool all you want if that's your thing...but i'm just sayin', a lot of things you start to say could be dismissed in that light even when you aren't playing the fool or jokin' around...if that doesn't bother you great...
