This may be difficult due to the "alpha-male" orientation that all rappers like to assimilate for themselves. The Alpha-male type is 8w7, but it will be difficult to distinguish 3 rappers and cp6 rappers from true 8 rappers, because they all adopt the same image. I also don't want the thread to be all about Eminem, because I've listened to all his music and he's NOT a 6. Focusing primarily on old rappers, new rappers suck. Anyways, here's my take:

Notorious BIG: Original 7w8. In his music he clearly enjoys the excessive fame and lifestyle.

Tupac: 8w7. Listen to "Hit Em Up" or "Only God Can Judge Me" if you don't believe me.

Eminem: 8. I might receive criticism for this, but I'm convinced that his songs are the works of an 8. He has many songs about integrating to 2, and many about disintegrating to 5.

Nas: Personally my favorite rapper. I've given it a lot of thought, and I actually think CP6w5. He's definitely introverted. Could also see him as 8w9 or 3w4.

Lil Wayne: Don't care for him, but he is famous.. 8w7 or 7w8

Kid Cudi: 2nd Favorite. I'd actually say 6w7. Thinking triad for sure. Not an 8. Possibly a 3, but I hope not.

Andre 3000: TOTAL 7. He's great.

Jay-Z: Probably a 3w4.

Snoop Dogg: Not really sure, maybe 9w8?

50 Cent: 8.

Please correct me where you think I'm wrong, and add anyone who I forgot

Eminem is a cp 6, not an 8.
50 cent is a sp/so 8w9
Snoop Dogg has an 8 wing, but Im torn between 7w8 and 9w8 for him. I lean towards 7w8.
Tupac is hard to type. Could be 8w7, but could also be 3w2, or even a cp6w7 sx/so.
Lil Wayne 7w8 or 7w6. No way he's an 8.
Jay Z 3w4 most likely.
Notorious BIG: Not sure but he's either a 7 or some kind of 8.

Eminem has a lot of songs about flipping out. All he does is feel victimized and overreact. 6w7~8w7~4w3 sx/so.

Tupac was a 6w7 sx/sp or sx/so. I remember someone saying that while Biggie commanded respect Tupac was always fighting for it.

Another rapper Mos Def is a 6w7 sx/sp.

"tupac was 6w5 sx/so..." BADMAN

Yeah not seeing any 5 wing whatsoever from Tupac.

"Biggie Smalls was 6w7 sp/so..." Badman.

Not likely but more of a possibility than 2pac being a 6w5.

Eminem is one of the most obvious cp 6's ever. w5. Tupac was a 6w7. I don't really know enough about the others to type them. Stepping outside of rap and into hip hop, I think Kanye West is a 3w2.

that doesn't mean it's not there.

2pac is 2much of a jumping jack energy wise for a 7 winger...just doesn't seem as physically grounded to me and is twitchy.

also watch his old interview...he's nerdy.

biggie was a big shy, quiet guy (even by his own estimation), likable, NFish, and has an overall go with the flow quality.

the connection to 9 & 3 is very apparent imo...like 2pac, biggie does wobble his head, but he does it at a slower, more even pace.

Doesn't this describe a 6w7 rather than a 6w5?

no, i don't believe so... 6w5s are just physically more vigilant/disciplined to me than 6w7s but i see that as a result of their being less grounded.

contrastin' the wings fives are less grounded than sevens...

If someone could give me ANY info on Nas or Kid Cudi, those two are who I was most curious about. I know they aren't particularly famous compared to the rest, but if someone could give me their insight it would be greatly appreciated. And Nas's album Illmatic is the best rap album ever if you need new great music. Please listen and give a response

Eminem is a CP-6, which makes the song "Not Afraid" really hilarious.

50-Cent is the epitome of a 3. Like, everything about him is image. Nothing is authentic. It's all about appearance and "giving fans what they 'like'", which is nothing a REAL artist would do.

Kanye is, in my opinion, an obvious 4w3. Tons of image problems like a 3 (like a 4 as well), but with the emotional problems and instability of a 4, as well as the need to be individualistic by creating "art" and not wanting to be put in a box.

Lupe Fiasco is a 4w5.

Jay-Z is a 3.

Tupac doesn't seem like a real 8 to me, more like a cp6 or a 1 (the aggression is definitely there, but not like Suge Knight, who is a real 8, for example).

T.I. is also a 3. It's arguable that he's maybe something a bit more aggressive, looking at his past. But I think the core motivation of "becoming successful" and running away from "feeling worthless" is apparent.

Nas? I don't really know about him. He's definitely not a 3, not flashy enough. Maybe a 5w4 or 4w5? He seems to really care about great lyrics and storytelling, also about being different (but not in the same way as Kanye).

Don't know anything about Kudi.

3 with both wings highly influentual. Most likely sx/sp.

-I'd bet my life savings Tupac is not a 1.
-Kanye as a 4 is interesting...but ultimately doesnt ring true.

Kanye West - 2w3 so/sx

The flamboyance, the emotional displays, the image focus, the way he reacts to perceived slights. I could maybe see him as a 3w2, but he just seems too ... leaky.

I know, it's an old thread. I couldn't resist... this is my genre.

Notorious BIG: 9w8 - Very much the gentle giant. Stubborn, solid, inclusive, broad vs deep thinker.

Tupac: 6w7, CP of course.

Eminem: 7w8. Mental energy up top, hard as nails below. Difficulty understanding emotional responses.

Nas: Six, not sure about wing. Social.

Lil Wayne: Not sure - 6 or 9. Not enough crackling mental energy for Seven as the primary type.

Kid Cudi: 6w7

Andre 3000: 7w6, no contest. Poster child for 7w6.

Jay-Z: 9w1... diffused yet meticulous, strong sense of "responsibility for the culture".

Snoop Dogg: 7w8... creative, realistic, self-possessed, expansive.

50 Cent: 9w8... strong Nine energy, with Eight's bent toward lascivious, murderous excess.

Kanye: 6w5... cyclone of mental exhaustion, unprocessed emotion.

Missy Elliott could be 7w8 or 8w7. She's the class clown, a tough cookie and a survivor.
Snoop seems like a 9 to me.
Jay-Z - 3. He has that mogul thing working for him.
I saw that some people list Kanye West as a 3, but I believe he lacks the impulse control and regard for consequences that 3s have.

Any thoughts on Lil Kim?
