Things were somewhat different here. UFOs and aliens were commonly talked about thanks to all those great sci-fi B movies and the early sci-fi TV shows, such as:
Space Patrol (1950) Tom Corbett, Space Cadet (1950) Tales of Tomorrow (1951) Science Fiction Theatre (1955) The Twilight Zone (1959) The Outer Limits (1963) Lost in Space (1965) Star Trek (1966)
Everybody thought they were seeing UFOs, tho I do agree that there were people in a few professions who would have kept quiet of their own accord or were told to keep quiet by their professional authorities.
Along the same lines, it is interesting how our concept of bogeymen parallels whatever age humankind is in. Natural that UFOs and aliens would have become the bogeymen of the space age.
all of those were taken as clear fictional fantasy, and received that way....the notion that everybody was seeing them is not true in the least...... very few people reported such things, for obvious reasons, such people were routinely regarded as "insane",
the record of historically reported sightings is publicly available and they do not support your assertion here..........although it is true that from the roswell incident onwards sightings increased, right through to the 60's and 60's, as this incident began to cause cracks of doubt and more people began looking upwards.
the attempt to parallel the bogey man, as is the case for previous attempts to parallel the ufo phenomena with people who claim to channel ptaah from the pliedes system, are utterly different in character....ufos refer to objective physical phenomena, psychic communion with star men is purely subjective......non verifiable or quantifiable phenomena, which cannot be confirmed or corroborated by any witnesses.
The bogey man....laugh........yeah.........don't even go there. haha.and while we're there.........lets not bring in kiddies invisible secret friends

re: bogey men.
the monsters of our past were very real in their present. the burned people in salem for godsakes.
it was an interesting parallel
one interesting thing i saw concerning aliens was that the images that are repeated of aliens- coincide with how babies see human faces before they are all finished up after birth. thought that was cool

the presenter?.......yeah he doeesnt do it for me either, he seems a bit flaky, but the fact remains that these artifacts were kept classified by the mexican government for many decades until they were made public this year, and no one has challenged their authenticity.
Silence is the very best way to make things go away...........and that is just what this disclosure has been greeted with by the scientific community.......much like the palenque skulls in the tomb of inscriptions

why would the scientific community be silent?
they are usually a curious sort and many would love to be on the forefront of not known until now knowledge. that's kinda what alot of them do for a living.

Jus' sayin'.

all you have to do is make that statement online, put up a youtube vid.....and that will be more than enough to convince most that its a matter of fraud....abi has debunked it...."claims, artifacts look hokey"(artifacts...there are something like 100 of them btw)...are they all hokey to you abi?....haha
i draw your attention to this clip showing the goverments who are beginning to disclose top secret ufo files
so the burningly obvious question must be askedtop secret files, high level agents...costly resources and personenel, kept secret from the public for decades....yeah, that seems credible when we're talking about weather balloons. clouds and swamp gas lololol

"...the notion that everybody was seeing them is not true in the least...... very few people reported such things, for obvious reasons, such people were routinely regarded as "insane"..."
How would you know? You weren't here.
Just like I had no idea of how it was going on downunder until you posted it.
In the early 60s, I lived in Bloomington, Indiana and had many friends from around the world whose folks were going to IU like my dad was.
We played space games all the time, watched those old programs and stood out under the stars with our folks at night looking for UFOs.
You paint/project your perception of reality with such a broad black & white brush. It's why you're always getting into pissing contest/debates.
All I'm telling is that was my experience of UFOs in the social context of the 60s...just like you're telling us yours.
Doesn't mean either of us is right or wrong.

there are statistics of reported sightings year by year on public record

no, we missundestood each other, thats what i thought you were doing btw, i didnt realise you were talking about personal context....your statement "everyone was talking about" sounds the broadest possible paint brush......and i thought you were referring to ufo reports....put down the hair trigger guns hun

yup, that's fair enough.........as you mentioned though, which professional would risk their career and reputation, social standing by bringing it to public attention....totally insane to do so during that social context.

I have no problem the existence of UFOs, aliens, artifacts, OOP-arts, etc... I would hope they exist. More fun that way.
I'm jus' sayin' that particular one you linked to looks iffy to me.
Your last link was the same as the previous one, BTW.

not especially to me...but since the same images appear over and over.......does it matter, the mexican government had no doubts about their authenticity it seems, why else would they classify them top secret and hide them from the public eye?
the cnn story briefly looks at the ufo disclosure coming from secret government files from dseveral countries of late.....the preponderance of evidence grows and grows, puts on more and more weight.........only a matter of time imo, before the camels back breaks
only two or three of the ooparts really struck me as wow, one is held by a private chinese collector, featuring a meteorite with a precision turned alloy bolt/threaded object inside......breathtaking.......most of course have plausible mundane explanations

no, the belief in bogey men is completely different in character than 30 military personnel with guns locked on a hovering ufo at a nuclear military installation......
how do they know how babies see human faces?........do tell

i actually forget but it has something i think to do with how optic nerves function- and the understand what the optic nerves do as far as vision works? it was seriously just a little bit i caught a long time ago. valid or not- it was very intresting
culturally yes aliens and bogey men are very interesting. whatever it is you are speaking of i have no idea.honestly i don't find it interesting. crop circle meanings were interesting.

this one blows me away, the stone from memory, is diorite, incredibly hard, harder than granite..........now the holes in this stonework can only be made by a massive high powered drill, i cant think of any other explanation......its not possible to use a bow drill to get this effect,as far as we know only high quality diamond tip drills can drill this stone.
the grit drag marks occur like this when rock is drilled in one pass...with speed.......ultra impressive......the perfect seamless rock joins hard to explain.........best ive yet seen.i doubt we could match the precision today

There was something in there about the northern hemisphere being uninhabitable and having to take refuge in the southern.

What's more likely is the breakdown of the food chain...due to a continued loss of the honey bee...due to the "perfect storm" of problems collectively called Colony Collapse Disorder...which may get even worse due to a nifty new evolutionary trick of the phorid fly.

Tell me about the phorid fly please abs; i'm not concerned about the bee population at all, i guess because i see them as one of a great many pollinators, rather than "the pollinator.
As far as doomsday prophecies are concerned, i've lived through too many to take them seriously; the mayan date refers to the end of the 13th buktan....13 out of 20 in their calender from memory; if something life changing happens this year, i imagine it will be on the economic front, or perhaps and extra terrestrial event.
What did you think about the mexican artifact release slideshow?

Re: slideshow...I think many of them look suspicious, but not all.
Re: phorid fly...if you're not interested in the honey bee population (and you should bee ) then why bother with the phorid fly?
Yes, there are other pollinators...but - no bees, no food.
Agree, re: 2012 being the end of a world cycle, not the world.
