I realised yesterday that I find it hard to differentiate between fear and nervousness inside others.

Any clues?

Nervousness is like a retraction. Fear is like a spike. Is as close I got.

The idea .. is to catch onto it quicker .. and do something beneficial to alter the state towards one more potent.

Nervousness is a way of expressing fear, like frustration is of anger. The two are not different. It's like trying to distinguish between Colour and Red.

I can be the king of frustration and anger, but it usually pass fast, and I tend to be unable to feel much fear, especially when I am frustrated or angry, in those situation I can feel ice cold, and it is a scary feeling. In you young days, I was involved in fights, and I can still recall the sensation of feeling so much anger, that it is not possible to hold it in.

Like when driving car, at soapy, icy roads, there is a voice telling me that I could get in an accident, but still I drive at the absolute borderline, of what will keep the car on the road, if I don’t do this, I get a bad feeling, for not taking advantage of the opportunity to drive as fast as possible.

When I feel fear, it usually starts with a bad gut feeling, and develops from there, later making me aware of why I am afraid.

Interesting. I tend to be slightly different. I can become extremely angry but I can simultaneously feel fear, which is why I can be so indirect and passive aggressive. It's not this way all the time and with all people though. I know the feeling of having too much anger to hold in. It's happened to me a few times too, all of which were around my family. The way you experience fear is also foreign to me. I just know when I'm afraid of something if it is expressed directly, otherwise I won't realize unless I analyze my actions and feelings afterwards. I'm not exactly too spontaneously in tune with the complexities of my emotion.

Nervousness stems either from fear or from anger/annoyance.

I consider nervousness to come from self-denial.

I would say nervousness is more like a personality trait - something internal - whereas fear is of something concrete, an external threat of some kind.

I think fear is more specific. For example- being afraid of alligators.

Nervousness is more general. For example- a very nervous person who is high strung and easily startled and has a hard time relaxing.

Nervousness for specific situations can be about a wider variety- something that is a positive stressor (such as an upcoming promotion or wedding) may still make you nervous. While on the other hand, fears are usually negative (although they can have positive results, such as keeping you away from dangerous situations).

Let me explain, before something bad happens I usually have a bad gut feeling. Like once I got robbed, I had a bad gut feeling before walking into that alley, but I choose to ignore the gut feeling, due to alcohol I think, and I paid the price, I never felt any fear in the situation, instead I was cold as ice, never reflected over it afterwards, just like no damage happened to me. I have had them, before I have bought things on holyday, obviously getting ripped off. I have lot of these gut feelings, and the only time they let me down, is if I do not listen to them. Experience makes wise.

When nervous, I feel the anxiety of the unknown outcome. It is nagging annoying.
When fear, I am dead calm and extremely fast reaction. I feel my blood pressure rush up and I am battle ready.

playing this game who in your opinion suffers most from fear vs nervousness?

It's a stupid game. I'm going to sit down first. I'd spike my energy up so that I can react quicker ..

That = .. Fear?
