Who should open a customer account?
Customer accounts are intended for anyone who wants to buy more than 20 test codes in a single order and/or anyone who administers our RHETI or IVQ online tests to others. The tests are widely used today in a variety of professional environments and applications, including coaching/consulting, corporations, executive leadership, human resources, staff development, universities, and religious/spiritual organizations, among others.

How do I open a customer account?
Simply go to our customer account registration page and enter your email address to begin. You will receive a confirmation email, which will contain a verification link that you must click to continue. Each customer account requires that an account administrator be designated. More information on account administration is provided  in other sections of this FAQ. Once your account registration is complete, you may purchase and begin using test codes immediately.

Can I add multiple names/email address to the account?
For security purposes, our system allows only one account administrator and email address per customer account. For organizations that require multiple people to perform account administration duties we recommend creating a user-neutral email address (i.e. that multiple people may access.

How much does it cost to have a customer account?
There is currently no charge to have a customer account, although we reserve the right to change our terms at any time. We will notify users in advance if we alter any terms of use for customer accounts.

How do I purchase test codes?
First, create/log in to your customer account. Any time you are logged in, you may purchase test codes by clicking “Order Tests,” or by clicking the shopping cart icon in the upper right corner of the screen. Only tests purchased through your customer account will be linked to your account.

Do you offer volume discounts?
Yes, we currently offer the following volume discounts. Volume discounts are calculated on a per order basis. Purchases of the RHETI® and IVQ in a single order are combined for volume discount purposes.

How many times can I use a test code?
Each test code is valid for one-time use only.

Do test codes expire?
Test codes expire one year from the date of purchase.

How do I administer tests?
When you order test codes, they are sent to the purchaser’s email address in a spreadsheet, which you may use for tracking purposes. You may also log in to your account to search, sort, filter, and export up-to-date test code information from your Test Details screen at any time. Customers are responsible for tracking their own pre-paid test codes and distributing a test code to each test taker. The Enneagram Institute does not distribute test codes on your behalf. After receiving a test code, the user goes to, enters their code, name, and email address, and begins the test.  

 How long does it take to complete a test?

We recommend about 40 minutes for the RHETI® and 15 minutes for the IVQ to complete the test in one sitting. If a test taker does not complete the test and returns to the test later, they may do so by going back to and entering the same test code and email address. Answers will be be saved for 72 hours, so if they return to finish a test within 72 hours, they may pick up where they left off. After 72 hours, the test taker will need to start again from the first question.

Who receives test results?
There are three options of who will receive the test results:
1) Test administrator only,
2) Test taker only,
3) Both test administrator and test taker (default setting)

You may change these settings at any time from your “Manage Account” page. Changing your results settings applies immediately to any tests completed from that point forward. As the account administrator, you always have access to and may download your test takers’ results from your Test Details page, regardless of your results settings.

What is included in the test results?
RHETI® results come in PDF format and include a test taker’s scores for all nine types in a full-spectrum profile, as well as the Expanded Type Descriptions (of over 2,500 words each) for the top three scores. IVQ results come in PDF format and include a test taker’s scores for all three Instincts, as well as general descriptions of the Instinctual Variants. Though knowledge of one’s primary Enneagram type is not necessary and does not affect the IVQ score, those who choose to enter their primary Enneagram type receive brief bonus content specific to their type.
