The QUEST-TAS (The Quick Enneagram Sorting Test and the Type Attitude Sorter) is a detailed personality test in two (booklet) or three (online) major parts:

  1. The Brief QUEST (online and booklet versions)
  2. The 45-question Short TAS (online version only)
  3. The 135-question Full TAS (online and booklet versions)

Part I: The Free Brief QUEST

The free brief QUEST helps determine your most likely personality type by generating a range of probability for all nine types. The QUEST will suggest:

  • Your most likely type
  • Your two second reasonable possibilities
  • The next three less likely possibilities
  • Two unlikely types
  • And your most highly unlikely type.

The free QUEST is used as a separate introduction to the TAS, but may also be taken separately as a free online test in only about 5 minutes.

Part II: The TAS (Type Attitude Sorter)

Once the QUEST has determined your three most probable types, the TAS refines the process. In the TAS, you will be asked to rate each of the statements on a 5-point agree/disagree scale. You have a choice of two different forms:

  • The 45-question Short TAS (online version only)
  • The 135-question Full TAS (online and booklet versions)

The 45-Question Short TAS (online version only)

If you wish to take a test that takes less time, you can choose the 45-question Short TAS, which generates a randomized, personalized questionnaire of 45 statements based on the top three types scored by the QUEST. The program then generates scores for your top three types, as well as expanded profiles of the types. (For example, if the QUEST indicated that you area most likely a 6, 4, of 1, then the Short TAS will generate 45 qustions for only these three types.) After you have finished taking the Short TAS, if you are still not satisfied with your results, you may take the longer 135-question full TAS in addition at no extra charge.

If after taking the QUEST, you would like to test yourself across all nine types, or if you are not are not satisfied with the results of the 45-question Short TAS for some reason, you can take the full 135-randomized question TAS. This will test you across all 9 types. A histograph and profiles of the types will help confirm your results.

Please note there are differences in the type descriptions in the online and booklet versions of the QUEST-TAS.

Online Version: Results of your TAS will take you to the Expanded Enneagram Type Descriptions. These type descriptions have been revised and updated to provide the most comprehensive type summaries available.

  • See a free sample of the extended Enneagram type description of Type Eight ("The Challenger").
  • If there are ties among the TAS results, or near-ties (if the scores of two types are plus or minus 1 point) we consider the results of the QUEST-TAS to be ambiguous, and you will be offered a free second take of the test at your convenience.

Booklet Version: The type descriptions provided in the QUEST-TAS booklet are shorter than those provided with the online QUEST-TAS results for production reasons. View the nine type descriptions provided in the QUEST-TAS Booklet.
